Tecta America to Display TectaGreenTM Green Roof at USGBC Greenbuild Show "View From the Top" Exhibit Has Attendees Seeing Green
SKOKIE, IL., October 2005 - Tecta America Corp., the nation's largest commercial roofing contractor, will exhibit a simulated intensive green roof with slope at Tecta's booth #259 at the USGBC's Greenbuild International Conference and Expo in Atlanta, November 9 - 11, 2005.
The "View From the Top" exhibit will simulate Tecta America's proprietary TectaGreenTM intensive green roof system, allowing Greenbuild attendees a chance to see and understand the beneficial intricacies of the green roof layers, up close, as part of the show's focus on green building practices. A green roof is plant cover over a conventional roof that offers an attractive and energy-saving alternative to a conventional rooftop by reducing cooling costs and reducing rainwater run-off, among other benefits.
Tecta representatives will be onsite to answer questions during the show and Tecta's Christine MacDonald will present an overview of green roof systems on Thursday, November 10 at 10:30 a.m. with Steven Peck from Green Roofs for Healthy Cities.
"Green roofs can save millions of dollars in energy consumption and improve air quality. We're committed to making green roofs an important part of our future commercial roofing efforts," said Tecta America CEO Mark Santacrose.
The TectaGreenTM living rooftop incorporates a specially-engineered system of layers to protect roof membranes from extreme temperature fluctuations and ultraviolet radiation. TectaGreenTM can double the life span of conventional roofs while providing energy savings by reducing heating and cooling costs.
TectaGreenTM conforms to the rigorous Green Building Rating System standards, qualifies for LEED certification for tax benefits, and improves site utilization by reducing the impervious surface area of a building to increase potential square footage for construction.
